About World Title Holder

World Title Holder is a publication about championships: how they are structured, how they pass from one holder to the next, and why people argue about them.

Why titles

Results tell you who won a contest. Titles tell a longer story. They connect generations of competitors, survive rule changes, and sometimes split apart. Understanding that structure makes every big contest more interesting.

Our approach

• We explain systems, formats and rules in general terms.
• We describe how disputes arise and get settled.
• We do not invent results, records or champions.
• When the record is contested, we say so.

Scope

Combat sports, board and mind games, racing series, team sports and other organized competitions. Anywhere a world title exists, the same questions come up.
